La Regina Legend is sold on a cabin size of 45 m², and that figure holds up: the operator gives it and two listings repeat it. It is the size of the entry grade, the Princess Suite, so even the cheapest room here sits at the roomy end of anything working these islands. The same two listings carry a Queen Triple Suite at 54 m² and a Queen Regent Suite at 135 m², which makes 45 m² the floor of the boat rather than a typical room on it.

The rest is thinner than it looks. Twenty-seven cabins, from the operator and one listing, though a second listing says twenty-two. A steel hull, from one listing. A launch year of 2018 from one listing and 2019 from another. The bay is the one other specification verified independently: this boat works Lan Ha and the water round Cat Ba, not the main Ha Long channel, which is a different trip and a quieter one.

The fittings hold up better than the dimensions. A balcony on every cabin, a jacuzzi, a spa, and kayaking included are all verified across sources. A gym is claimed by the operator alone. No source we checked mentions a pool. The operator describes four decks, and no one else gives a count. Nobody publishes the capacity or the length, so this page does not state them.

The price: on request

Nobody publishes a cabin rate sheet for La Regina Legend, so the price is on request. What we can give you is a yardstick. Heritage Binh Chuan puts its cheapest cabin at $360 for two on the same length of trip, on a listing rate sheet read on 6 August 2026. Get a per-cabin quote for your dates in writing before you compare La Regina Legend against anything.

What you cannot see

The operator has released photographs of a cabin, two bathrooms, the dining room and the bar. There is no photograph of the ship from the outside at any usable size. We went through everything they published. You can see the freestanding bath and the wine shelves in the dining room, and you cannot see the hull those things sit inside, which is an odd gap on a boat sold this hard on its interiors and worth knowing before you commit.

One detail in those photographs matters. The backlit sign behind the bar reads LA REGINA CRUISES, not Legend. The company runs more than one boat under the La Regina name and listing sites move guests between them without always saying so. Get the ship’s name printed on your confirmation, and check it says Legend.

The route

Five named stops, all of them on the Cat Ba side: the Bright and Dark caves, Trung Trang cave inland on the island, the village at Viet Hai, Three Peaches Beach, and the biosphere reserve that covers the whole of Cat Ba. That is a fuller second day than the Bai Tu Long boats manage, and it is the honest argument for this route over a cheaper one. Kayaking being verified matters more here than it would elsewhere, because on this side of the archipelago the caves are something you paddle into rather than walk through.

Departure is from Tuan Chau Marina, again on the operator’s word alone. Confirm it at booking. Boats leave from Hon Gai Pier as well, and the two sit on opposite sides of the Bai Chay bridge.
