Orchid Premium Cruise

Five cabins. That is the entire boat, verified across sources, so ten guests fill it and a private charter is a realistic thing to ask about rather than a fantasy. The price follows from that, and the price is the hardest part of this page.

The per-person figure in our listing data is $90, uncorroborated, and it is useless to you. Here is the cabin table instead, with a caveat attached to every line of it. We read these rates on 6 August 2026, from a listing rather than from the operator, and the basis is the highest published rate rather than a mid-season one. Terrace Suite, $1,140 for the cabin. Premium Terrace Suite, $1,260. Exclusive Suite, $1,660. All three are priced for two people.

Treat those as a ceiling. The cheapest of them is $570 a head for one night, which is more than six times the headline per-person figure, and a gap that wide means one of the two numbers is describing something other than what you will be quoted. Our reading is that both are edges of the range and the real answer sits between them. Ask the operator directly and get the total in writing, because we do not have an operator tariff for this boat and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.

The cabins do not add up

Our records name four cabin types with a room count attached: two Terrace Suites, two Premium Terrace Suites, one Exclusive Suite and one Family Premium Terrace Suite. That is six rooms on a boat that two independent sources agree has five. One of those four is either not on this vessel or belongs to a sister ship, and we cannot tell you which.

Cabin size is worse, though less of a mess than the label suggests. Four figures are in circulation, each with two sources behind it: 45 m², 48 m², 65 m² and 90 m². Two of them we can put a door to. The 45 is the four terrace suites, and the 65 is the Orchid Premium Exclusive. The 48 and the 90 match nothing in the operator’s own breakdown, which separately puts a family suite at 96 m². So this is not one room described four ways, and it is not a clean list of grades either. The smallest figure anybody gives is 45 m², which is large for this bay, and every cabin has a balcony, which is verified.

The launch year is 2019 and the steel hull are both the operator’s word alone. A jacuzzi, a spa, a gym and included kayaking are verified across sources. The pool appears in the operator’s own photographs and in nothing else we found. No source publishes the deck count, the length or how many crew and guests the boat carries.

Nobody publishes the route

This is the gap that would stop us booking it. For most boats on this site we have a stop list scraped from several places. For this one we have nothing: no cave, no beach, no village. Even the bay rests on a single source, which is the operator saying Lan Ha.

One two-star reviewer described the trip as a slow circuit of the islands that misses Ha Long’s main sights, and said so as a complaint rather than a compliment. If you are choosing between quiet water and the famous water, the difference between the three bays is worth twenty minutes before you spend four figures on the wrong one.

The reviews belong to several boats

Google shows 9.9 from 131 reviews. We collected 277 and 193 of those are in English, but most of them are not about this boat. The operator runs Orchid Classic 1, 2 and 3 and Nostalgia alongside the Premium, and the review text moves between them freely. We discounted everything that named another vessel, which left very little.

What survived is worth reading twice. A group who chartered the whole Premium called it a three-star experience at a five-star price and put the blame on organisation rather than the boat. Booking confusion recurs across the wider Orchid pool: guests who thought they had booked one ship and sailed on another, or who were unclear whether they had bought one night or two. There are heavier accusations in the low-scoring reviews as well. We are not going to repeat claims about how a company treats people when we have no way to check them, so read the one- and two-star reviews yourself. Sixteen of the 277 we collected sit at one or two stars, which is six per cent, and a 9.9 average does not have a tail that size by accident.

Who it suits

A party of eight or ten who want the boat to themselves, who will pin the itinerary down in writing before paying, and who can absorb a badly run transfer or a muddled arrival without the holiday turning on it. Who should look elsewhere

Two people paying $1,140 for a night, expecting the organisation to match the tariff. The evidence we have points the other way, and there is no published itinerary to hold anyone to. If the money is the point rather than the exclusivity, the best-value list has boats where the rate sheet comes from the operator and the stops are published.
