Rosy is the most ordinary boat on this site, and that is a reasonable thing to be. What guests at almost every star level praise is the room, large and full of light, with a balcony on every cabin, on a hull listings date to 2020 that sleeps in Lan Ha. A cabin for two starts at $310 for one night.

On price, the rate table we hold was read on 6 August 2026: the junior suite is $310 for two people on the one-night trip, the senior suite $340, the VIP suite $380. Two sharing the junior suite pay $155 each.

That table is not a tariff. It is flagged as the highest published rate we could find, which makes it a ceiling taken off a listing rather than something the operator quoted us. Guests are more useful. One writes of paying around $700 for three days and two nights, which sits inside the $610 to $740 the listing asks for a cabin over two nights. Another mentions a fare above $200 a head without saying how many nights it bought. Ask for the grade and the total in the same email.

What is actually on the boat

Twenty-two cabins, confirmed across sources. A steel hull and a 2020 launch, both on the operator’s word alone. Twenty-two is the number most operators settle on, because it fills one tender and one dinner service and still pays for a gym.

A jacuzzi, a spa, a gym, kayaking and a balcony on every cabin: all verified. There is also a pool, and only the operator claims it, though their own photographs show a plunge pool set into the bow deck and a second one on the sun deck under umbrellas. That is better evidence than a listing tick. Fourteen of the twenty photographs we hold come from rosycruise.com and the remaining six from the Google listing, which is cleaner provenance than most boats on this site manage, and the pictures are of the ship rather than of the bay.

Cabin size is where it comes apart. Four sources publish four numbers: 28 m², 32, 40 and 55. Twenty-eight and fifty-five each have two sources behind them. That is a tie, so whichever figure you see quoted somewhere is arbitrary rather than most-reported, and we are not going to average four numbers into a fifth that nobody published. The three grades on the rate sheet make it worse: no size, no bed type, no view and no room count between them. Twenty-two cabins, three names, no breakdown. Nobody publishes the passenger capacity, the deck count or the length of the hull.

Where it costs you

The average is 9.5. We collected 102 reviews and read them, 52 of those in English. Nine sit at one star and eight at two. Seventeen out of 102, about one in six, and a 9.5 with that underneath it is not the same as a 9.5 without it.

The complaints are consistent, and they are not about how the ship is built. A guest in room 307 over a night in late December found cockroaches. Another reported a persistent smell coming from the shower and was answered with air freshener rather than a plumber. A third found no cushions on the outdoor chairs, upstairs and on their own balcony, so sitting outside meant sitting on hard slats. Dinner comes up again and again: portions too small, seasoning odd, vegetarians offered a cold salad and something fried. One couple paying more than $200 each were charged for water at the table.

Read the one and two-star reviews yourself before you book. Twenty minutes will tell you whether that list is maintenance you can shrug off or a spoiled holiday.

What the low reviews mostly do not attack is the size of the cabin. Guests across the star range call the rooms large and full of light, and one who booked a junior suite was handed a senior suite on arrival. The pattern we read is a decent boat with housekeeping and catering that vary by the week.

The route is thin, and that is the real question

Three stops are published. The Dark and Bright caves, a night at anchor in Lan Ha, and Ha Long water on the run out and back. Set that against the boats that also put you into Cat Ba National Park and the village at Viet Hai, and it is a light second day.

One three-star guest on the one-night trip says the schedule was meant to include small islands to land on and did not deliver. That is a single account. It is also the same worry the published route raises on its own, which is why we repeat it. It may simply be that the operator does not publish the full run. Ask for the timed schedule before you pay, and if the second day is what you are buying, look at the two-night version instead. Kayaking is included and verified, which is worth a line of its own, because kayaking is the inclusion most quietly dropped between the listing and the day.

Boarding is at Tuan Chau Marina, stated by one source, so confirm it when you book. Then say the name to your driver and say it twice. Tuan Chau and the Ha Long International Cruise Port sit about twenty minutes apart, Hon Gai Pier is over the Bai Chay bridge on the far shore, and drivers reverse them often enough to be worth the repetition.

Who it suits

Couples who want a recent hull with a balcony on Lan Ha Bay at close to the median price for this water, who will book a named cabin grade, and who do not need a marquee feature to point at. On those terms it sits comfortably in the best-value list and among the rest of the Lan Ha boats.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone whose second day matters. The published route is short, the itinerary is unconfirmed, and until somebody puts it in writing you should plan for the shorter version.
